    Default Fishing superstitions?

Who else has these little weird quirks that they will and will not do while fishing? I generally am not superstitious cept when it comes to crappie fishing. I will Not unstrap the dip net before I start catching fish and if I unstrap it at any pointd it's a proven fact that the bite drops off 75%. I fish with a pole in each hand and if I'm fishing black/chartreuse it has to be on the pole on my right or it throws everything off. My latest quirk that's really gaining steam is to NEVER text someone in the middle of your trip and tell them the fish are biting, that's a bite stopper if I ever seen one. Let's hear what you guys do, I don't wanna be the only fruitcake on here.

Don't like to catch a big fish on the first cast and have to wear certain hats for certain kinds of fishing.

Not sure if it would be considered a superstition (maybe experience), but when I was growing up I was always told the fish won't bite after there's been a lot of thunder.

As a young boy , In the summer Fish would come up and nibble at me, and cows standing in the water had every fish in the pond nibbling at them. I have to Resist the urge to pull up at all the swimmers and start throwing my jigs at them. Well that might be common sense

Thinking about this more , Bro has to study the Solar Tables and fishing times looking for the best times. We have passed on so many days when the wind was down to nothing. Then when the days he wanted to go, here comes the cold front, Storm clouds and lightening flashing like Thor in Battle. I find out from CDC that the days the wind was down is when everybody else was loading the boat with slabs

OK....here's one.....when I was growing up and going fishing with my mom, dad and uncles, they would always look to see if the cows in the fields were standing or laying down......if they were standing and eating then the fish would be biting......laying down , might as well go back home....no bite....I still look but don't pay any attention to it....
