Thread: Fishing superstitions?

ya'll ever notice that big garfish try to catch birds???no hijack here Bruce...

OK....here's one.....when I was growing up and going fishing with my mom, dad and uncles, they would always look to see if the cows in the fields were standing or laying down......if they were standing and eating then the fish would be biting......laying down , might as well go back home....no bite....I still look but don't pay any attention to it....

Bruce, I've heard the same thing about the cows laying down

Fish on Line, I had forgotten about the "nibbles." Had that experience many times while swimming in the farm pond in which I was baptized. Another one I remember from years ago is that the fish are biting if the "skeeter hawks" (dragon flies) are active. Experience taught me that one might actually be true.

now that you have mentioned it, I have noticed this to be true for me....they land on your pole and while you are watching it your cork disappears.....
