I'm on my 3rd aluminum trailer. (different boats) I think they hold up great. Never had a problem with the road rattle and I think they are better if you fish salt water. However, there are some parts on an aluminum trailer that are galvanized. Usually the axle, bolts, board screws and brackets. Still will rust with saltwater use and time. I always wash my trailer as soon as it comes out of saltwater. That said I would recommend aluminum.
