Great report. The water temp is rising fast! I am glad to hear I am not alone in my luck testing my patience. Thanks again for the informative report.
I just noticed I am now a Trophy King II ! Gotta love those participation trophies!

Fished Harris today from about 9am - 4pm. Launched from the southern ramp and water temp was around 58, by the end of the day on the north end of the lake water temp was 64. Mikeski and I fished shallow, deep, points, creeks, coves, and flats on the Northern and Southern end. We marked quite a few fish in over 30', caught some really really small males in 35'. I ended up with 1 keeper size crappie 11.5", mikeski with 3 or so bigger perch. Whenever we'd mark fish we would catch 1 or 2, most on the very small size, and the bite would shut off. We marked quite a bit of bait in the 15-20' range but no fish to be found. Weather was great and it was good to get out though.
I think my keeper crappie total for the year is about 5 with many skunked trips. I figure if you do this hobby long enough its just as important to learn to get through these slow streaks, it'll make the hot bite feel so much better.

64?, better start checking the shallows now. I hope I can sneak away for a couple of minutes tomorrow before I have to leave town but it's not looking good. May just do some investigating and a little fishing.
Don't feel bad I went on Tuesday and fished all day caught 1 Crappie and 1 White perch...
Thursday I went to Jordan had a decent day, but I met two guys that had left Harris they only caught 1 catfish...
I don't know what's wrong with Harris but I'm gonna stick with Jordan lake...I'm tired of being skunked. LOL.
I DRIVE 45 miles just to get to either place.
I hope others are doing well at Harris. But I'm sure if you hit on the right day you can load the boat.
We haven't been in a few weeks, but the scenario seems the same - mark a lot of fish but they don't bite. Maybe there's too much bait? I always wonder if there are guys out there who are netting shad for the crappie bite.
While I normally prefer Harris, out of 4 trips to Jordan (1 being the bigeyecrappieman tourny) I have caught 1 crappie. Last winter I loved sitting under the ebenezer bridge in my kayak catching a stringer full while most people were hunting, this year not one trip like that. I think my sophomore year crappie fishing NC is sending me a humble reminder that last year might have been a first year luck kinda thing.
Can't last forever though...
My son a I fished Saturday and fished all over the lake and caught one small cat. There where a lot of boats on the water.
But it always a good day to take my son fishing
FISH ON, FISH ON
Maybe they recognize your fishing line. You gotta change that at least every year! ;^)
You had a way better day than me. Did you guys see me in my orange kayak?
