As of this week, I am the proud owner of a kayak! After last weekend, I just couldn't do the whole bank fishing thing any more... I have been looking into getting a canoe or something for some time now. I got a lot of good advice from some friends that do kayak fishing on a regular basis. I was fortunate enough to run across a good deal on a Jackson Coosa that has been rigged up with just the right amount of accessories for me. Not too much, but the things that make a good difference, and leave to the options of what goes where up to me. I'm pretty happy. I've already figured out, what goes where with the crate, poles, rod holders, etc. Just want to make a PVC pipe anchor for certain spots on the lake... Looking at those retractable dog leash versions. that looks pretty nice considering you don't end up with cord laying all about on the floor of the yak.
The only issue is, now I have this kayak finally, and it's really dang cold outside! I may drive the boss crazy this weekend... Fortunately for me, she is leaving Sunday morning for a couple days. I hope it does the normal NC thing and goes back up to 60 degrees next weekend... I'll be on Jordan next Saturday.

Thanks man. I really can't wait to get out on some water with it. If nothing else, just a bit to make sure that everything works and is in place.

Not to be a nagging nanny but make sure you get a good life vest, a flag and pole, and maybe some lights. The most dangerous thing you will run across is your fellow fishermen.
Congratulation! Jackson Coosa is a nice fishing kayak.
I almost ran over one last year in intercoastal water way at Morehead at night in a thunder storm. I was running the channel just fast enough to stay on top of water using GPS and channel markers. He was in the channel with no lights or reflectors. scared the crap out of me. I have no problem with kayaks but we all need to stay safe. Congrats on your new boat.
I do have a vest. It's not "the best of the best", but I went through Bass Pro's inventory and found one that fits well, with functionality.
Today I went to Lowes and built this...
Since the last photo was taken it has been plasti-dipped to a black color, but the flag (once complete) will be big enough to see from the international space station... I recruited my mom who likes to embroider, to make me some hi-vis flags with the USMC Eagle, Globe, and Anchor logo on them. She's retired and doesn't have much to do... haha.
in the mean time, i'll be using a blaze orange hunting vest. I put some clips and 550 cord on the pole to attach said flags. It should work really well.
After looking at these photos on the computer, I really need to clean my garage... please don't judge me on that... It tends to look that way after hunting season...

Good work.
We don't judge here.
I see your Christmas lights are still up too. Hehehe!![]()
Good to go. Haha. Yes they are. I'll admit. I forgot about them.
I put two s shaped clips on the loops for the flag. And left that cap unglued for a future light attachment in case I get brave enough for night fishing.
