ENO?
Has anyone seen the Eno River lately? Is it flooded up like everything else? With Jordan the way it is lately, I'm tempted to try fly fishing out there this weekened for a little while. Just curious if i'll have an area to go to...

I am going tomorrow. I stopped by the ramp on my way home. Water looks pretty good I am fishing out of a 18' xpress. Holla if you see me

I'll be heading up there Sunday. I talked the wife into a hike and fish. Not really sure there would be anything biting at flies, it's pretty cold still. I just need to get out and practice casting some. I think we are heading to Fletcher, NC in a couple months. I really want to be half decent when I get to the trout waters! haha.

Eno is still 2 and a half feet high but it is out of the parking lot now so you can get a boat in the water. I'm planning on trying it on Friday. Don't have a clue what to expect since the rain.

Hey, Capt.. Thank you for that. I was going to ask today... Given your post, do you think there are areas that you could safely wade into? I don't have a boat. I was looking at just getting out to practice casting the fly rod. I haven't touched it in the past couple months. There's not a lot of places to go around here.

If you want to wade and fly fish the ENO you probably need to go up around Penny's Bend area. The Eno and Flat both run between 6 to 8 feet deep until you get a ways upstream. The Flat from the 75 bridge downstream for a couple of miles could be waded but not upstream from the bridge--too deep. I used to live on the Flat upstream from 501 and used to wade it often. Even up there it wasn't unusual to step off in a hole that was 5 or 6 feet deep !! Be careful !!
