Those oysters they are growing in cages are pretty oysters. They are more expensive but they are beautiful singles targeting the half shell market. Locals Seafood at the Farmer's Market is carrying some cage raised oysters as well as some other places in town. Its pretty amazing the work they put in to them. They regularly pull the cages, sort the oysters by size, tumble them to knock the edges off so they will be thicker and not as brittle when shucking.

November 18-20 the MFC will be meeting in Nags Head and making a decision on southern flounder is on the table. It's going to be interesting to see what happens. Since the legislature is out of session and its not in Raleigh the ease of blocking by politicos won't be there. Its on the home turf of the Wanchese crowd so maybe it'll be the typical intimidation of the Commissioners to influence their votes.

It'd be nice to be able to expect to catch a few legal flounder at times other than their fall run.
