Default Stripers biting and meeting new friends

Had a pretty good weekend on lake Hickory. My daughter caught her first big striper. It went just a touch over 30 inches. She loved it. My wife also caught a few more keepers on Sunday. We caught 8 total along with several nice spots. Tried for crappie for a while, but didn't have much luck. Met two new friends - blugras and Brandon. Met them here on the forum first and then in person this weekend. Great to meet both of you and look forward to fishing with you in the future.

Way to go, there, man! Was great meeting you. Great pics! Sounds like you turned in a pretty good weekend! Was a great time to be on the water Definitely look forward to fishing with you in the future. Maybe we'll eventually figure out the crappie on that lake, haha. There's a few folks around that have it figured out, but they stay kinda quiet, lol.

The only ones I hear of catching crappie on Hickory are doing it with live minnows. I guess I will have to try that route. I really hate to though with all the white perch, it is hard to get the minnows to the crappie. lol.

It was good to meet you. Had yourself a pretty good weekend. Congrats to your daughter for catching the striper. That's a nice one for around these lakes for sure. Hopefully we can get together soon and chase a few together. As the weather cools down the bite should only get better. Tight lines to you.
