    Default Slip bobbers

Has anyone ever used a slip bobber with a jig. I don't have a trolling motor so I anchor. But I was wondering the bobber drifting would make enough action for the fish to bite. Hopefully what I wanted to do was set the bobber about 2 feet off the bottom and just letting it drift

I long line with slip corks and jigs. I thought everyone did. Its also good for casting as it keeps the bait in the strike zone, and you can still get a vertical jigging action with it by giving it a quick snatch.

But yes you're also correct about the drift giving it enough action to draw a strike. A lot of the time lees us more when it comes to jig action.

When the crappie are bedding a fixed bobber is a perfect cast and retrieve tool. I like the tear drop bobber for this.

Yep. I agree. That is when a soft plastic under a cork is absolutely deadly. I love to throw the 1" Gulp! chartreuse minnows or Power Bait curly tails under a slip cork at fish on the beds.

just make sure you aint "pulling it" as you drift because if your moving to fast the line will slip up throught the bobber until the jig mets the bobber...your boat will move with the wind faster than the bobber so its best to keep it out in front of you
I can only wish to be as good as my dog thinks I am

I like them because I can fish a jig at any depth I want and keep it there. Then if the fish move up or down I can quickly adjust my depth with a slide of the knot.
