They are caught here good on sabiki rigs at times. Catch 4 or 5 at a time on those rigs. If they are not hitting sabiki's, they are on a trolled beetlespin bite or a bottom rig bite. Most folks use shrimp here for bottom rigs but red wigglers or pieces of night crawlers will work on bottom rigs too. They are caught by cooler fulls here when they show up. I know some guys that caught 300 and 400 a day last summer. Bigger ones seem to school together so if you are catching smaller ones, move around and look for the bigger size perch schools. They are one of the best eating fish there is.CF
