    Default Norman 5-1

The striper bite is still going strong.

fished from 5-dark. didnt have a single fish until about 45 minutes before sunset. Then it was a literal firedrill until then. on 2 occasions had 6 on at once (mostly 13 inch hybrids) with several good striper mixed in. Herring does the trick as always.

Met CDCer Squid Row out there and he had equally as much luck.

Full day 1/2 day or evening Striper/Crappie fishing trips available at a very affordable price for
Lake Norman, Badin, Wateree, High Rock.
Individual maker of the heavy duty "hybrid" A-rig Trolls just like an umbrella rig, Guaranteed to put fish in the boat

Pete you tearing them up,lots of fun.I've never caught a striper since i was a kid. we got into a school on santee back in the early 70's while crappie fishing, boy what a ball they were like 13" fish and me and my brother caught them for an hour. Tried all last summer to catch one on lake Rhodhiss with no luck. can't catch bait so i was using big shiners and trout in fall. can't get a job so i can't fish much!!! I assume you fish State park on up. I know Hickory is better then Rhodhiss so ifin i get some income i may start fishing Hickory for Stripers, GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND KEEP POSTING THOSE RESULTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS i heard that a striper club put a million hybrids in norman about 8 yrs ago. do you think that big one you caught was a result of that clubs stocking? i know that the NCWRC stocked some last summer but they were fingerlings i know a guy that has been doing a sampling for NCWRC and is catching them 10-11" Post back up what you thank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey bruce. That fish for sure came from that stocking from the club years back. Last year i caught a handful in the 4 1/2-5lb range...i believe it was actually about 4 years ago. I can confirm that we have been wearing out 12-13 inchers the last many trips...2 more years those fish will be in the 4 lb class. THEY GROW QUICK, and norman now has the bait to sustain them!!
