I pull a basscat pll down and up a hill with a jeep cj, less than a quarter mile. I would not trust it on the highway, even though the surge brakes work fine. I've also pulled a ZX190 behind a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but prefer it behind my 1/2 ton Chevy. If the boat trailer has surge brakes, you should verify they are working properly. Maintenance and applying brakes in a safe area, you should notice their functioning. I wouldn't worry so much about the pulling, but put the emphasis on stopping.

My first question would be what size engine are you getting? What size boat are you pulling?

I pull 21' Bass boat with a Ford van 80 mph up and down these Missouri hills, but I have 351 engine also.

I pulled my boat with a Jeep Wrangler, but never pulled on a interstate highway or anything.
It pulled fine you could feel the boat pushing the Jeep when slowing down.
