By putting the name and address in the pole, you meet the regulations for a limb line or noodle. Seems a little weird to me but be that as it may, I run 8 rods when we rig. That seems to be the normal set up.

According to MDC website
"Any fish you catch is included in your daily limit unless you release it unharmed immediately. You may not replace smaller fish in your possession with larger ones caught later. You need to make a keep or release decision as soon as the fish is caught. There is one exception: if from September through June, you are a participate in a bona fide catch and release black bass tournament (one after which all bass are released alive) that requires entrants to have a boat livewell with adequate capacity and a pump constantly adding fresh or recirculated water, the black bass you release unharmed from the livewell need not be included in your daily limit. At no time may the daily limit be exceeded."
Does this mean you cannot cull in any crappie tournament or cull crappie at all? And can you not cull in a bass tournament in July and August? I do not cull crappie anyway and very very rarely fish a tournament. I also did not know that you can use more than three poles (two on the Mississippi River) as long as the additional poles are marked with your full name and address or Conservation number. I really don't understand what the point of that is.

God bless Charlie Brewer and Bobby Garland.
Yep no culling of crappie. And they are treating more than three rods like a trotline that must be labeled, up to 33 hooks I believe
Bulletman aka Tommy
Dexter and I usually dont catch enough to cull, you with have to ask Darrin and Wyatt, they are the Cullinators.
yep no culling, even the good ole boy/girls/kids in the local tournaments, no culling ,,, unless the agent in charge sees fit to allow a culling in a crappie tournament,,,, Bass guys got more clout.... I know of guys who catch big fish on the _____ and move them to the _______ and think it is ok,,,, Been many a day I come home with two or three fish or even one and clean them.... once in the live well them are destened to the grease...... as for the poles, I have two poles out, with two jigs per pole,, one pole has to be labled,,, and so on and so on,,,,,
ok so in crappie masters tournaments they don't cull in the show me state? .......

why does one pole have to be labeled if your using three poles or under? i thought you can use three poles, three hooks per pole without labeling. And what if you start the day keeping fish and then decide to throw them back later??? Is that legal because technically you have to make a catch or release decision when the fish is caught.
three hooks or more,,,,
if you decide to toss em back at the end of the day, and lets say a conservation agent sees you, and half of them float cause there dead, I guess you could get a ticket for wanting waste of a natural resource. I as you have said did not want a mess of fish, say 7 when the day was over, and I have never had a problem giving them to someone, I just never been one to cull, never have never will.
they may cull I do not know, never fished the Crappie Masters Tournaments, or been on the water when they are fishing one,,,, but I heard that some of them cull, but most if not all keep up to 7 big ones and the ones they think will not weigh up are left in the live well and donated to a hungry fisherman, or cleaned and eaten.... don't really know, like I said never fished the tournament trail,,,, but I bet the ones that do are pretty honest fishermen/women/kids
