On a side note, I hear sub-sonic .22 rounds are very quiet, and one shot will be hard to get a locate on. A big yellow yelping flopping dog might draw attention, don't know your situation and proximity of nosey neighbors. A good bead might not make that a factor though. Not recommending it, just thinking out loud. LOL Good luck.
Did think about the hot wire. Need another new battery unit for farm anyway. But what about my dog she runs free the fenced yard is her's. Neighbors dog one one side, he can run fast. Nosey girl friend on other side! But I love her! Watches place for us! About 80, and one of a kind. I kind of watch out for her since her husband died. I might forget wife for christmas but not Pat!!!

Thinking out loud, .22 = about 1.5 miles range? Woods out back, cant risk kid in woods. Would love 12 guage light 8's, too loud.

And I am already marked by neighbors, so is wife, loud bang, neighbors know not to call 911, call for body bags. I am kind of the local neighbor hood muscle. Got young ones to look out for mostly 75 to 80. One dude has built in radar, my livewell full, wifes empty, he has left the country! My livewell empty, wifes full, I can't get into my driveway without him blocking my front door. Did I say nice guy? Only the best, always offers to take pictures of wifes large fish! Mine he could care less! I got really to much invested to make noise. One guys does all my wheel bearings and brakes on 6 trailers I rotate in and out of here. Usually $20.00 cash plus parts, his wholesale discount. I give the order and they are done, rv, boat, 1 covered, 2 flats, 1 cattle. He has put head lites in for me at 10:30 pm.

Beagle still best idea, got rope laid out and trip mapped out. Hope it happens quick, before I say bye again. Don't want wife to handle job she is ready to pull trigger.

Could you live with your full sized German Sheppard girl shaking laying in your living room under your feet about 120 pounds? She would bite anyone but she is scared to death of this dog! Aint seen her scared of any other dog before. Look she is just a stupid dog, but she is our dog, and she loves watching football games and nascar.

Going to talk with both side neighbors and have them ready and watching. One told me to fix my dog. That ain't the problem, You don't jump my fences. Would even put mine down if I could control her.

Just my 2 cents...killing it would be a real headache for you, since it is known from the 911 call of your intent, but you have the right to protect yourself.Ditto for taking the dog for a ride,it will only take a second for someone to see you.

Stick with a pump-up BB/pellet gun,you can get one for 35 bucks..pay cash.Don't pump full power..6 or 7 should do it and keep nailing the dog every time you see it.You don't want a bunch of pellets in it for a vet to find.Be prepared to lose the gun and deny, deny, deny.

Don't let the dog see you,he needs to associate getting"stung" with the fence, not just when he sees you.

It almost sounds like I've been in about the same situation..hint/hint

I with you Cook and 911 records show I have a CCW and a 9mm. But if its my dog in danger or getting hurt, its jail time period. Attacking my dog is right besides attacking me or the wife in my book.

But I still don't have the heart for killing a dog even if its for self protection of my family dog. Didn't say I couldn't do it, but if I have to do it I will be sick in my gutt if I have to do it. I don't like being backed into a corner over anything and when I come out I will come out of that corner fighting.

better let this one go and ask the moderator to delete the post.

take a little advice, if your going to do someting wrong, tell the fence post and the fence post only, then burn the post. a secret can only be kept by one.

Might try mace . Some of those cans of pepper spray shoot pretty far and you don't have to be accurate.

Have you considered this? Dog Assistance - Video

Also, I got my brother-in-law to start using a paintball gun on the deer that eat my sister's garden. Much higher range, multiple rapid shots, not much more than a good sting, and no legal ramifications. The paint washes out pretty good, too.

I didn't think about a paint ball that wouldn't hurt anything! Except most my yard. Figuring I can't shoot straight now wife would be mad if she had any grass color but green or brown. I have seen some paint ball shooting ranges and now that I think about it, NOWAY!

Have you thought about a 22 short vasectomy? It worked on a bull that liked my front yard.
