Put up a privacy fence, or a taller chain link. Problem solved.

Ironmike63 I am glad I don't have cows in your neighborhood. Heck I am nice to the neighborhood bulls and when I get really mad at them I only use light 8's with a 12 guage!

mduncan62 I thought about that also. But if I don't my neighbors on each side of the house to agree to also increase the height of their yard gates its not going to work. And the neighbor on one side is a very nice lady but she don't have the kind of money it will take to replace or make changes to the fence. So that means it all comes out of my pocket. Our fence is standard sized now.

    Bucky go back to work!

I guess it could be worse, PW58's son had to arrest 3 goats running around a neighborhood in Nixa the other day.

I would be cautious about taking the dog anywhere. It can be viewed as kidnapping/theft. I know this sounds assinine but it is the world that we live in today. I would opt for some sub sonic .22's. Make sure it is a head shot and dispose of discreetly. I would take the collar seperately, if he has one on, and burn it. I doubt the owner/dumba$$ has him chipped so you should be fine. Darn shame that you have to deal wih all this because of a few inconsiderate a$$holes!!
Opinions are like A-holes, everybody has one and some stink worse than others!

DMW1960 I think I've found something that will work great for you especially something that could be fired in the city with out too much noise involved.

Check this out in case you haven't seen it on the main OT.

Get an old tire without rim. Place metal pan on tire and put in some table scraps. Strip one end of a drop cord and tie it to the metal pan. Plug other end of drop cord into a receptacle. Haul dog off in the morning.

p.s.: Chain your dog so he doesnt go snooping around those table scraps.

You could use 22 "shorts" in a rifle. You would probably have to load 'em into the barrel of the gun manually. Less sound than a kids cap gun, the kind that used rolls of paper caps.

Sounds like you are at your wits end. Sorry about that, but try to remember that a dog can only run loose if it's allowed to run loose. I guess I am asking you to take mercy on the dog. My wife and I used to help adopt dogs. We fostered about 80 dogs and most of them were very good dogs, but had stupid former owners (spay and nuetering helps). I do understand you needing to protect your dog; as I would also protect my dog. Sounds like you and your dog have a very close bond. In the hands of a good owner, that other dog could have the same thing. Good luck.

Used to have close to the same problem, had a 4-10 shotgun, took out the lead and replaced it
with beans. Only hit the dog once, never came back, can't remember how much noise the gun
made but we live in the country so it didn't matter. Maybe more humane to take the dog for a ride
but i couldnt catch it. Beagles advice is the best.

My Dad used to educate the neighborhood nuisance animals with a wrist rocket sling shot and .36 caliber lead balls. They usually learned pretty quick as he was a crack shot with it. One neighbor knew dad was up to something because her dog used to bark at everyone except dad, that dog would stay in the garage when dad walked in the backyard. It will not kill a dog unless you hit them in the head with it.
