I'd vote for number 4, only because I spent Sunday am with meals on reels in his new "anti-tree" boat on Truman. I said "Yo, Josh, just because we have 10ft poles does not mean we have to stay 10 ft from the trees; Monty trolled right up to them when he showed me how to fish" "Oh, ok" So now we get closer to the trees, but he must have the trolling motor on 25 'cause we're going by them at about 15mph. By the time I drop my jig, not only am I hung up, but I've also lost about 20yds. of line. We are new, we suck, but we are learning (I hope)

You've got to start somewhere Jack. The more time you spend on the water the better you will get. Keep at it and you will have it mastered in no time.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'

Jack, you need to fish with us older people. We tend to get a lot slower with age. Slow is much better in a lot of things.:D Dipping trees just happens to be one of them.

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I was kidding more than anything, we just need to know our way around Truman better, and that will come with time spent on the water. Older people? Bob, I'M ALREADY THERE! And Monty, you are correct; until you showed me, I thought the trolling motor only had the rabbit setting
