welcome to all
herchammer is the "handle", the name's John. I live in Cameron, Mo. I grew up down around Springfield. I'm career Missouri Air National Guard, CrewChief. I've recently rekindled my romance with fishing; I think my wife is starting to suspect..... Any way I haven't gone huntin for crappie since I was a little fella, with my Grandpa, and that's been a criminally long time ago. I got bit by the bass bug at the beginning of the spring, and I've been trying to scratch the itch ever since. I've been fly-rodding for bluegill and redear, but I'm anxious for a shot at some crappie. I have four year old twins, a son and a daughter, and they love goin' out to the dock and catchin' bluegill. So, that's my wordy way of saying "howdy Y'all".![]()
WOW! I can't believe it's been so long since I welcomed the newbies.
Welcome to all the newbies I have missed. Hope you enjoy your "visit" enough to make it your "stay".

Ken Busch here. Live in Trimble, married with three kids, and three grand kids. Used to fish a lot as the kids grew up, but the last few years my weekends have been taken up raising a couple of those grand kids. They are starting to get to the age I can get them on the water. Mainly fish on Smithville, but I have spent a lot of time on Truman in the past.
Welcome to all the newcomers!
Shout outs to Tammy (Trout1) and John (herchammer) and bovairean (Ken)....FYI....we got us a few little (for fun) tournaments at Smithville Lake this year. First one is next Saturday, July 28th. Come by to fish or just for the weigh in and say hello to the members who will be out there.
Again, welcome from Kearney
Another Newbie here, I'm Brandon and live in Independence well getting ready to move. I own a small Lawn & Landscape company with a 2yr son and 3yr daughter, and my daughter love's to fish just as much as I do. I just started to "serious crappie fish" about a year ago and now completely hooked more on the night fishing than any and to the point my wife thinks i'm seeing someone else because i'm gone so much at night lol.... I had a guy tell me last week he was craving crappie but wasn't catching any cause the water was to hot, I went out that night caught my limit 15 at smithville brought it to him and ask how I did it I just said by the pale moon light and homeade crappie light, now he's going next time. I'd love to meet a couple or one or any old time crappie fisherman and learn more i've found that this is a never ending learning experiance and something new is coming out every day!
Welcome to all the new folks from Southwest Mo. ..... This is a great place to make some friends and learn a ton about crappie fishing.
I have not yet begun to procrastinate .....
