Put this on the main board as well. Thought this would be a good place to say hey.

Hey everyone, I'm new here and have already learned some new stuff and eager to learn more! I am from Kansas City, MO and fish a lot at Smithville lake which is nearby. Still trying to learn the lake and how to fish it. I am looking forward to getting to know some of you and contribute to the forum where I can.

    Phil

Hey...I'm new and I'm glad I found this site. I'm 62 and hate to admit it, but if Crappie fishing insight was dynamite I wouldn't have enough to blow the dust off my tackle box. My wife has been battling brain cancer and 2010 and 2011 were living nightmares but now she has shocked the doctors and the undertaker and has gained enough strength and stamina to inform me that she was ready to take up fishing again and to buy a boat. So I got a boat last month but don't want her to keep coming home skunked and started searching for info and found this site. Man I have learned a lot, now hoping I can implement it when we get on the water again. We live 20 minutes from Bolivar Landing on Pomme. I have heard there are lots of Crappie in that area but you couldn't prove it by me .... Thanks a bunch to the guys that offer all the info on areas, depth, lures, and techniques..... I'm gaining some confidence and getting geared up. I'm hoping I can someday post some pictures on here of my wife holding some nice sized slabs.
I wondered if I should call the Guinness Book of Records collect and tell them that I may be the first guy in history who's wife told him to buy a bass boat.Rofl Looking forward to meeting some of you all ....... Bill

Welcome Bill!! I bet she's just happy being out on the water with the guy that stood by her, whether she catches fish or not! I don't fish Pomme much, but I think there are lots of brush piles in that lake....some marked, some not. Try to locate some of those and drift over them with minnows. I bet it won't be long and the two of you will have your own stories and pics to post here!!

Thanks Vic.... She downloaded the MDC app on the brushpile locations ..... Hopefully we will be able to take some slabs in for questioning next time we hit the lake. A buddy of mine loaned me a GPS / Sonar Rig he hasn't used in three or four years so that should help me get zeroed in. It's got the Navionics chip for all the Missouri lakes ...... Now if I can just remember what buttons he showed me to push I'll be doing alright.
I have not yet begun to procrastinate .....
