Nice slab!! When I pull cranks I throw a couple rods out, set speed and if I kinda bounce off the bottom on some shallower spots gives me an idea on depth and line to let out. Don't pull cranks a lot, haven't done it this year. Last year tried pushing cranks out the front of the boat using 2oz troller weights, really liked doing this better, easier to control and if I pass a good spot I can turn around quicker and go back thru and I can set the depth more accurately. Either way trolling is a good way to put fish in the boat and learn the contours of the lake.
Bymo and I did it once with his counter reels and we did ketch some nice ones and it was different. BUT I am a single pole jigging dude and crave the thump so havn't done it since. Even tho there is a local lake by my cabin that local bass guys showed pics of 3 and 4 lbers they caught while pulling for bass and they were huge cranks. might have to invite up a couple of guys who know what they are doing and giving it a go.
