I tried my hand at trolling for crappie with Bandit 300s last week while down at LOZ on vacation for the week. This was my first time trying this.

Trolled around 1.6 - 1.7 mph and had baits back at least 100' (don't have line counters). Wasn't sure what colors would be best, so bought an assortment. I have to say pink hands down out produced anything else. Also used the silver/blue chrome and an natural shad color. Didn't catch huge numbers, but the fish I did catch were mostly keepers (I'd say 4:1 keepers to shorts).

I did use the technique of rotating rods when casting out a bait while trolling - casting to the outside and moving others in...I'm sure it saved me some tangles.

Best results for me came along steep bluff walls in 40+ fow.

I used to not crappie fish in the summer, and would move on to jug fishing for cats after the shallow spring bite...I'm hooked on this trolling thing!
