Bugman only the second time I have tried the night bite in December and it has been very good except for Tuesday night. One thing about night fishing in December is you definatly have the lake to yourself, unless you see me at the ramp..call me crazy

Bugman I use a green LED light the alumiglo. I usually only drop it a few feet. I did get some bait fish mostly emerald shiners coming in but not as many as in summer time. I usually fish normal summer time deep water spots near brush, bluffs, points etc. I just really like it at night bc of the peace and quiet, and they usually hit pretty good.

Are you tight lining at night or using a slip bobber?

bugman... Night fishing is addicting. I bought me some lights last year and used them on Truman in July. It was a blast for sure. I couldn't get enough of it. My son was with me and he was pulling up a 9" crappie and up comes a saugeye and bit it in half. Looked really cool in the night lights. I still have visions of that and it was over 6 months ago.
For me minnows are a requirement. I couldn't get much to bit on jigs and I tried them a bunch. Always got them on live minnows though. Sure wish I didn't have to work. Work makes it hard to night fish. I guess I just need too much sleep. If you are a person who can get by on a few hours of sleep at night then you are much better suited for night fishing.

tight lining but slip corking works well when the wind isn't blowing and low to no current. Bobber sits in the water better
