From Horn Lake, MS Have not fished in YEARS started again this year. I like cat-fish Don't think I have ever caught a crappie. Probably wouldn't throw it back though, (unless it was below the legal limit) don't have a boat or the financial means to get one.
I just recently fished Horn Lake (the lake) which is actually in Walls, MS not Horn Lake. Go figure.
Hello Ladies, Gentlemen and WB. Been reading the info and comedy routine on here for several months and decided to join in. Live over in Marion and mainly fish at Horseshoe. Have been trying to catch a three pounder so I started fishing at Enid and plan to start fishing all the lakes in N. Ms. Looking forward to making some of the FJs in the future. Hate to say it but I have been waiting for WB to finish another chapter.:o
Hello to all, Newbie myself...Just hope HAMMER HEAD lets me fish the FJ with him....LOL
Hello everyone! I am Gary from Vicksburg. I have been crappie fishing on and off for many years. I fished Rayburn and Toledo from the time they were completed until ’85 when I moved from Texas. The past few years I have been catching Crappie in the small oxbow lakes on Kingspoint Island and Palmira Lake. As you know fishing in those type lakes is controlled by the river stages. If the river is at the right stage the fishing can be unbelievable, but if not you can catch just as many in the bathtub. I am tired of waiting on the river to go to either come up or go down. I have always single pole jig fished, but now have decided to try the spider rigging and dragging cranks on some of the larger MS lakes. I have read many of the post on this forum that were filled with great information and tips…(thanks guys), now let’s see if I can remember it and make it work!
Welcome all! Hope you enjoy your stay! :)
That I aint intoduced myself here already, just ignorance. I seen the newbie thread and figured it was for just the Mississippi folks. Got kinda bored last night and started readin posts in the newbie thread and discovered my error, so I beg your pardon.
Have crappie fished since I cant remember, was always just a single pole fisherman. Started comin and readin posts here last Feb, and now am rigged up for spider riggin and am just startin to push cranks. Hope to add pullin cranks by next spring. Fish mostly Millwood and Greeson lakes, some at DeGray and just startin to slip over in Texas and fish Wright Patman and Lake of the Pines some. Hope to come to Miss. and fish some.
Owned my own HVAC and Plumbing business from 1972 till the Drs. made me retire in May. Hard to quit workin after all them years, so reckon I will have to let huntin and fishin take works place. Worked for DOD in Iraq from 2005 till 2008. My best friend over there was from Vickesburg, Miss, Have lost touch with him the last year, heard he was havin wimmen troubles. My daughter and SIL live in Smithville if any of yall know where that lil town is.
Welp I have run of at the mouth more than usual, just want yall to know I think yall have the most funest state site on here. I love all the BS, makes me feel like I am at deer camp. Very informative place also, as all of CDC is.
Howdy to all - Steve
BS? What BS? We're all dead serious over here.
Welcome.....just so's you know, since I responded first, you have to be on my side from now on and if somebody says something bad about me, you have to take up for me. Them's the rules.
