Thread: Big boy panties

Ok, so if a guy wanted to break out of his old, hard core, antiquated, not catchin many fish lately, habits, and start to dabble in this trollin thingy, where does an ole fart like me start? I'm finally willin to think out side my narrowly defined box, put my big boy panties on, and try somethin new (to me). Which is Jimmydee speak, for - "OK, you guys win. Trollin it is"!! I know this is old hat for you guys, so if you don't want to take up site space I truly understand. But, HELP!!!!!! I'm yellin Uncle here.

first thing is to get some trollin poles and rod holders rigged up and on the boat. dependin on the time of the year find some appropriate depth water. rig up them poles and start draggin slowly just above where the fish finder says the fish are. next make sure ya got a long handled net readily available to put them big hogs in when they take the jig. after that bring me all the fish. lol

Trollin as in multi-pole jigs/minnows... or pullin crankbaits?

If it's the latter, I'd just rig up or get a couple fairly stiff rods, somethin
like you'd bass or catfish with, some 10 or so lb line, and pick up a few
300 Bandits. Maybe a couple each basic colors, white, black, pink, chartreuse
and let 'er rip. Trolling motor will work plenty good.
You can get a good idea of your speed by watching the rod tips wiggle.
Some days they want it faster or slower.
Just remember what you were doin when you catch fish and try to keep
it wigglin the same.
Just start pullin stretchs
here and there, and move around. Sooner or later you'll start happenin onto some
fishes, the more that happens, the more places that'll give you to try again
next time. I get all deep into it, but shoot - if you happen to be in the right
place at the right time, it's really awful easy. Gets lots of bonus fishes too,
bass, catfish, big bream even at times.

Well first thing I'd do is stop wearing panties. Get you some Superman underoos. Did wonders for me. And no one is the wiser.

Next thing is to hitch a ride with someone that does it regularly. It'll really cut down on the learing curve.

next time you come down jimmy let me know in advance and I will try to find WB something to do to keep him out of the way while me and torch show you. Just know WB will have somethin to say about this post LOLOLOL

Thanks guys, gonna give this a try. Like anything else, when you get comfortable it works a lot better. WB, would Spiderman Roos work better since, we're "Spider" fishin. (Wow, that was waaaaay to easy)
