That's odd, since none of the money from a length limit fine (or any other fine except one for no license) goes to the MDWFP.

I use a Frabil EZ Checker on the 10" MLL lakes I frequent. Never tried it on a 12 incher.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

I use the tape on the lid of my cooler. It isn't perfectly accurate, but I throw back anything that isn't 13" on the lid. I'm probably throwing back some fish that I could legally keep, but it ain't worth the chance to me. Maybe the main benefit to me is that it is easy as pie. I just slap the fishy down there and if it ain't 13 I throw the puppy back and pray for a bigger one next time.

The last time I was checked by the GW HE was using a Golden Rule. That's why I bought one.

The one I bought came from WMart and was marketed as "Renegade" brand. I think other companies (BPS and Cabelas) may market their own. Mine also had some discrepencies in accuracy at other intervals also.

I check my golden gator rule with a tape measure, it was right on the money.....however, at the bottom of the ruler where the bend is, it pushed the tape out about a 1/4 inch.

to measure perfectly , had to hold the tape above and off the ruler, above the bend.
