Ive always heard those things were off, thats why I use the checker, just slide him in and measure. I checked mine and its dead on. Now w/ that said if the man want to write a ticket for 1/32 then he's hard up to write one

I heard a fisherman was caught with a short fish when he was using one of the "Golden Rules" available. I decided to check my "Renegade" WM brand golden rule. At 12" it measures 1/32 short. Those of you in length limit lakes might want to check your golden rules or other measuring devices.

Its Foolish and wrong to morn the men who died, instead we should thank God that such men lived.

A whole lot of crappie won't slide all the way down to the tip of the Frabil crappie checkers. Be careful.
I believe at times when them fellars in the green boats mean to, they will find something.....they are just like old time revenuers...they don't use logic , just out for money.....
thanks for the info....will certainly check mine as well....

If they (green boat boys) are in a bad mood, they'll find somethin' to nail ya with, but that beats the alternative. The limit is doing good things to keep the fishery world class

The frabil is off by 1/16 if you use a machinist rule and put in there it is off. Gw proved it i didnt get busted but he was nice enough to show me. And it wont work on butla fish. They wont fit in it. I wont keep any thing under 12 1/2 in.

I'm with Mr. Jim, nothing shorter than 12.5''. I looovveee crappie but there's not one out there that is worth 100+ bucks!!
I go with the 1/2 inch strategy as well. Have a golden rule and also a tape measure for back up. Agree about the frabil, the ones I have seen won't handle the crappie I tend to catch, just not big enough....
Ditto... 12 1/2 inches and they go for a ride. I do like to fish below the dams on occasion.... those 10 and 11 inch fish sure do cook up nice.
