Great ideas ! Looks like I need to do some measuring to see what would fit. I think that I'd have to remove the back deck to install a bigger tank but maybe that would not be too hard.

Bring it to my house or an address in a pm (I hope close) so we can look and work on it.
Just the state as location don't get it.

With a 6 gallon tank I wouldn't worry with a gauge. Top it off on the way on each trip to the water.
My 12 gallon tank is easy to get to. It has a built in handle. 85.12 pounds lifting out of it's hole? I don't think so.

Some of the older six gallon metal tanks had a gauge in them so it can be done. The trouble would be finding the unit that will work or an old tank you could rob one out of. Also some of the small engines and lawnmowers had a filler cap with a built in gauge.

I used an electric sending unit on my 12 gallon polyethelene gas tank. The problem I had was with the screws going into the tank, There is no way to get the screws to tighten down tight enough to stop gas from leaking from around the top of the tank. I tried several sealants including Gorilla glue and nothing would stick to the tank. I replaced the tank and gave up the idea of a sending unit on that type of tank.
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

    Default Gas gauge

I’ve seen built in tanks used like a portable. Just don’t strap it down. Easy to rig up with everything you need. You can buy small built ins and attach the sending unit in them. They come with the right hardware built in them for that. All you need then is a Short piece of filler hose and vent hose with a cap/vent combo and some hose clamps.

Thanks, I was looking at my boat to see if I could take the rear deck off to install a bigger (squarer) tank but the rear deck is welded aluminum so I guess I stuck with what I have.
