Outside of that argument, I haven't seen the need to change or regulate the guide industry. If they decide to operate without insurance, then that's they assume the massive amount of risk involved. Even with a waiver you can sue for negligence in our state and with out insurance, the cap on that lawsuit can be astronomical. As in everything and then some.

The arguement for an OUPV(six pack) license is moot unless you guide on the Any of the Tennessee River lakes or Tenn/Tom pools. The CG has no jurisdiction over landlocked impoundments outside of the inland waterway system.

I would gladly see a hike in in-state and a double hike in out-of-state license fees if they need additional money to regulate and enforce laws on our fisheries. I'll pay my share before I drop such a burden on another mans livelihood. That's exactly what Louisiana and Florida do.

Regulations are why a guided crappie trip costs $250-$450 and an inshore trip for specks and reds runs you $900-$1500. The guides themselves make about the same profit.

Easy tiger, I have bumped my head many times but you have misunderstood my statement. A double hike in fee would simply be, for example, if they raised the in-state license by $5 then raise the out-state-license by $10. As in double the hike in price.

Double the out of state license fees?? Really? Is that the real feeling of the MS residents is to let the out of state fisherman pay for the lack in the price of doing business of a fishing guide???
And trip fees going to $1,000 is absolutely ridiculous. Who in their right mind would charge that, much less who would even pay it??

I have to ask this question....how many MS resident crappie fisherman travel outside of the state of MS yearly to crappie fish? As a traveling angler, how much expense is paid for the variety of things involved in or during a trip? Now, what if half of your visiting anglers quit coming south. How is that going to affect each type of business involved with the traveling angler? All because of raising or doubling non resident lisence fees.
You guys have it made with it being the land of the giants. Like my pawpaw always said, boy don't look a gifted horse in the mouth...

Another misunderstanding. No one said it should be raised to $1000 or that the license fee should be doubled. This was already clarified above. Has this topic reached the point of people jumping to a conclusion without reading? I see now why it was removed from Facebook.

I'm no sure about the out of state license but my resident license was higher this time, want to say 47, I buy a sportsman license every year.
I don't see increasing the license fees as a hardship to anyone, even doubling them which would make mine 90 and an out of state 120 for a guest, paying 30 bucks more than a resident is resonible. This is annual rates

You guys are getting off subject here....he asked for input about a petition that none of us have seen....but says its about guide lines for guides....then says its to protect the resource. Really dont know what this means without seeing the petition.

Yeah $47 sounds right for the sportsman, it was an increase from last year. Heck, when I bought mine I even paid for a duck stamp, knowing good and well there was a 99.9% chance that I would not duck hunt last winter at all, also paid for a WMA permit as well. It is my way of giving a little more to the fund without being forced to. I don't see where the lakes are hurting, there was a man at the boat ramp yesterday when we came in, he was just wrapping up on his limit. Yep, sitting on a 5 gallon bucket, fishing license, couple of jigs and corks and a casting rod worked well enough for him. And mind you this is one of those lake that ain't got no fish in it either, bet you couldn't tell him that without him snickering a bit.

Ok after all the bashing back and forth, all I received was arguing and death threats. This was probably not the best way to go forward

Going to go another route. Thanks for talking it out
