Seems to me we are getting all fired up over a proposal made probably because some one is jealous over another guy making some money.....I don't guide but can tell you the guys that do aren't just enjoying a box of chocolates. They work for their money. Does the resource need protection and regulation? You bet it does. MWFG has that responsibility. They do their best.Would imposing guide fees aid the fishery or change anything? Probably not other than taxing the guides. We don't need more regulations. Period.
We need more common sense and law abiding people in the world, not regulations.
I am a Lucky guy. I spend my vacation time each year as an out-of-stater coming to the Magnolia state to catch a few fish bigger than we have at home.Usually only a few trips.I look forward to the fishing and the people (some of the friendliest anywhere). I have never hauled home any big number of fish.I absolutely love fishing Mississippi a few days each year.
If an increase in license fees was required to regulate the fishery I would gladly pay it.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
