I pull 2 1/4 oz jigs under the cork, frankly cause it's easy for me to figure depth and shallow water is a lot easier, fishing deep behind a cork is a pain.
1 mph, 1/2oz total weight, good run of thumb is the bait will run half of how much line you have out. Wanting to fish 3 foot deep you need 6 foot of line behind the cork. It works pretty good for me, run cranks the same way in the spring. Run both of the sides just like I fish in the summer.
