I have an Elite Ti. It's Lowrance's Gen 3 unit with a new name and some wireless features added.

Instead of buying another unit to go in the back, I downloaded Lowrance's app onto my tablet and control the unit from it while running the outboard. It's an older Android Tablet that I bought new for $200, and it's got a 12" screen. Heckuva lot cheaper than buying another unit.

I like Lowrance/Navico because I can use their units and filetypes in just about any 3rd party mapping software. They are much more flexible in custom mapping options and features. For 99% of people, this is a feature that they have absolutely no need/interest/capability in.

Other than that, I would go with Humminbird. My Ti has some issues with shorting out at the power plug. I have the problem fixed for now, but it will pop up again- probably right when I need it the most. And since Lowrance's customer service & support is world class (this assumes the world I speak of is the septic tank of an ISIS slave camp), I will continue to put off calling them until I'm at the end of my string.
