The first day I went there was a guy bank fishing for crappie not too far from me and he told me that the spring gets pretty hot he told me he usually catches his fair share of big crappie around the 2lb range in March and April. He told me he never had much luck in the fall, every blue moon he might luck up with a mess of nice fish but he said the spring is when the big boys move in. Which I already knew but I figured I could reach em in the fall with a slip bob and long casts. That's interesting that you said they were gonna restructure the lake soon. An older gentleman that works there was talking to me the other day and he told me roots from some of the trees close to the bank have been causing the pipes to bust and they had been wondering where some of the water was going
