Guess I'm the odd man out. I always use 10 or 12 lb main line and 6 lb for my leader using snap swivels for kentucky rig or c & c style. Sometimes my leader breaks before the hook staightens when I'm hung but that's ok....I've never broken a rod either or lost the entire rig. I believe the lighter weight leader improves the bite but that's just me.
