I wouldn't worry with all this mess. I feel like no matter what I can get a ticket every time I'm checked. Which is less than 10 times in 20 years. Out of those I got a lead shot ticket, non functional life jacket ticket, and a no boaters ed ticket. There are so dang many rules I have a hard time with remembering and following them. Whistles, air horns, fire extinguishers, pole numbers, fish limits, running lights, parking passes, life jackets, licenses, trailer tags, etc. ha. I just be as nice as I can and give them what they ask for. They know who is trying and who is not. Just try to be legal and u will be ok.
Now you got me worried about boaters ed, I think I got all those other bases covered but I've never had boater's ed. In Tennessee where my boat is registered, if you were born before 1981 you are not required to take it. Never thought to check Mississippi.
