Just had a thought, I know that is bad for me. :Rofl But we used to have a deal to pull the boat in current. It was made to allow is to pull 12ft Muscle brails. These things can weight up to 500 lbs when you have a few buckets of shells on one. This deal was called a Mule, Pipe top and bottom. About 3ft wide and the Material used on them. Was 3ft wide, round 6ft to 7 ft tall. Tie ropes to the bottom pipe on the outsides. And the top side also but the top side you can adjust the length of the rode. Thus changing how hard the mile pulls. With even small currents it would allow us to fish for shells. Or when the current got high adjust it and it would pull less. PLus you can steer with it.
May have to rig one up and give it a try, I know using a mule you have more control. PLus its adjustable from lock the boat down to let it move. So speed can be changed with just small adjustments of the top rope. That rope had knots tied into it every couple of inches and the knot fits into on our old Wooden boats and even john boats a pair of nails.
Just thinking out loud, but I think a mule is the deal. Will sure being giving it a try and do a review on it.
As Cane Pole always puts. This is my ideal and mule and the product is mine HEHE
Think I saw that Cabelas has brought them back out in the saltwater section, maybe dreaming that tho.
Cabelas saltwater catalog lists socks up to 100 inches.
Amish Outfitters drift bags, good construction and has a rope to the exit hole to quickly "deflate" them when time to pull them in. https://amishoutfitters.com/catalog/...cdd692dc8d9c73
ShilohRed, I think you can do something similar, if you run 2 bags, just adjust the length to change the swing of the boat.
