Wind out of the west fish bite the best. Wind out of the east fish bite the least. Wind out of the south bait goes in the mouth. Wind out of the north ? That's a good saying. It's true. Also before a front is great. But it's hit and miss for the most part if you go once a week. But it's great if you go everyday. Your always on top of them.

I use the cow gauge!If the cows are standing and feeding so are the fish. If the cows are half standing and feeding fishing is slower. If all the cows are laying down go on back home!!

I have heard a lot of the old folks say that and these folks swore by it.
