    Default Wasting my Time

Looking back over my trips to the COE this year. I went 22 times. Only caught fish one time before 8:30. Pulling cranks. What did I do wrong. KS-10

Pulling cranks. you get the right depth, ect. How long will you run the cranks you have chosen before you start changing colors? KS-10

What factors make you decide to leave an area you have caught a few fish in. I think I stayed too long waiting on one more fish.. KS-10

I start with several colors that I have developed confidence in. Black bubblegum, mistake, a couple of pink hues , grenada shad and maybe a chrome/blue or trans craw. So far I have caught them on 2-3 of these. usually most of them.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

never leave fish to go looking for fish. so I tend to stay perhaps too long.

When and where did you start? location might be off.

Sometimes when the fish are biting I'll never go over the same spot twice.

The reason for trolling is to troll. Very hard to troll over same group of fish. Unless its marked with trees or bouys. Just troll around keep mental notes location and depth. As far as colors keep changing till they hit it. Also keep mental notes on what color works. It's trolling not very hard. Alot of guys make it harder than what it is. Keep it simple and enjoy. I don't go early. Some days it's tough some days it's right on. That's fishing.

I disagree hotrod, I troll back over the same fish time and time again pulling cranks, some days 1 or 2 spots produce the fish. To each their own but when I catch 2 in the same spit it gets a mark and another look, you can count on that.
