I have just booked a trip with Feelay for the middle of March and can hardly wait. It is supposed to get close to Zero here in Indiana tonight and some snow is on the ground. For you "southern folks" Snow is like rain but it piles up sometimes. lol We will need to find a place to stay and Feelay said that Batesville has some motels. Any advise to good ones would be welcome. Fishinfred

Check into the State Park's cabins. I use them all the time. They are fully furnished and cost about the same as a motel room.

Look at staying in oxford . Not but 8 minutes further and 4 lane with no traffic lights .Plenty of chain hotels/ restraunts . You have the right guide ! Went with him this past yr .this was from our trip . A storm was comming and we were off the water before noon with a boat limit . Took my brother and nephew and they are itching to go back ! prepare to have a blast . a wealth of information to be had .

X2 on Oxford. It is an old college town with a old timey square in the center of town that has more fine resturants and watering holes than you could try in 5 trips. Try and stay within walking distance of the square and you will have a blast.

Better have deep pockets in oxford. Its a college town and they know it. Price is high on everything there cause 99% of the population momma and daddy is paying for everything

Having had one at State and Ole Miss , plastic works well in both places ! LOL . I look at folks with four kids and shake my head . Parents don't need to be teachers ! FIND B'S BBQ , HANDY ANDY, and the beacon . good food, good price . walk and look on the square, eat somewhere else .
