What ever you like. With any line there a trade off. Yes, mono will fail more often, but it's cheap and highly reliable, plus it has some give which helps to keep the fish hooked up. Braid lasts forever and is smaller diameter for less drag and deeper runs with less line out, but one or two complete respools will kick you in the pants.

What evs. It all works. Just use what works for you.

Man, I have some braid that's all white and hard to tie because it's so limp the knot sort of collapses on my saltwater gear.

Correction on the braid to flouro knot. I said Palomar. Use an Albright. First cup of coffee the first time around.
