Default First Day of Summer and 50th Trip

Anybody else keep up with the number of days you fish each year? This is the first year I thought about doing it, and I'm up to 50 today. I was planning to skip, but with it being the first day of Summer, I had to go out and give it a try. I got 16 before I ran out of bait. Some of the things are huge! I'm talking as big as spawn fish. I didn't even know it was possible to catch fish like this in this hot of weather. I'm shooting for 100 days this year, and I hope to continue breaking my record until I'm fishing more days per year than I'm not fishing.

Yep, I keep a log of the days I fish. Haven't added 'em up yet though.

I keep up with my duck hunting like this, but not crappie yet. Fished much more this year than the past two, though.

Nice job!! I def keep a fishing log, it's fun to look back at some of the old trips and see just how different my memory is from what I wrote down too Congrats on the 2 day a week habit too!!

I didn't even think about writing down some details of the trip. I just keep a count on the calendar. Wednesday I wrote "49" on the calendar, and today I wrote "50." That way I don't have to add them up, but keeping a log with some details sounds like a fun idea.

I jot down the date, time of day, what lake, water temp and level, rising/falling, clear/dirty, weather, what I did and how many caught, and maybe a few other tidbits that stand out for that day. As I said before, I will look back at trips that I think I remember pretty well, and there are usually a lot of specifics that I have totally rearranged in my feeble little brain. I think it helps a lot to be able to look back at what you were doing at a given time period for the last few years and what the water levels and conditions were like, you start to see some consistent patterns. I keep a little notebook in my truck and then transfer it all to a Word.doc and I have it on my phone too, that old data has helped me more than once on tough days!!
