Thanks Maj and "G", but too late. My 37 year old son with 20/15 vision came over yesterday and replaced all 72 hooks in 2 hours and change. Based on your advice I'll not be changing hooks on any further Bandits.
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
All right you gewbers. I've got a new question for trolling 101. When trolling with live bait, (crawler harness etc) how can you know what depth your rig is running at? I have read through this thread, and I don't recall anybody talking about live bait and harnesses, only plugs. I'm using a 7 1/2 foot cabella's depthmaster trolling rod and depthmaster II dm20a line counter reel loaded with stren hi-vis gold 10lb line. Thanks for any info you guys can give.
People out here in so-cal don't
know what you guys are talking
about,,, keep it on a down low!!!
lol..........

What is the coolest water temp that you pull cranks in? Do anything different for winter pulling?
A lot of folks say they don't pull cranks in the winter time, however, I won a tournament this past March doing it. Don't remember what the water temp was but it was cold. Fished with Bandit 300's but with only 8 to 12 feet of line out, caught them right at the back of the boat. My baits were running so shallow I could actually see the hits. I caught more fish that day than I ever have before of since, I was culling fish that were nearly 2lbs. I fished another tournament the next Saturday at the same lake, doing the same things and didn't do diddley. Go figure.
