I think I'm gonna stick with mono for spider rigging also cause I like to tie my jigs with loop knots.
Scott, you can still use loop knots with braid and them not slip on ya. I've been ding it for a couple years. You are talking about just slipping a hook on the line, then tieing another hook on the bottom, then coming up 18 inches or so and just making a big loop drop, right? Leaving the entire loop on it and not cutting anything? You get a few tangles with braid is the only drawback
Looks like we need some more posts over here. It's seems the only way to bring Billy the Kid back on the front page.
I think your right hunter about Billy.....I did go shopping today and bought some more Bandits and then I came home and ordered some more off the inter-net....its addicting I tell ya.
I sold all my Bandits a couple of months ago thinking there was no need for me to have them in this part of the country. Wrong! Scott got my up there and now I'm hooked. My kids wanted to know what I wanted for a belated birthday present, and I told them a few Bandits would be nice. Go a box with 30 baits, all great colors in it this week. Then made a trip to exchange my 998 to Bass Pro, and had some extra money from the exchange, so guess what,,,,,I'm now set up for crankin.
Why did you exchange the 998 ?
I didn't need that much of a unit to fish the Pearl River and to go up with Scott a few times a year. Traded that in for a 788ci combo, a 24 volt Minn Kota with ipilot, a 3 bank charger, a battery, and a bunch of crankbaits. I feel upgradeing everything else was worth it. I have a 17' Nitro with a 75 Merc on it.
you'll be wishing you had that 998 back before to long if you're gonna pull cranks much
