I have a Ranger 520 with an Ulterra 36 and can pull cranks for around 6 hours.

Quick question. On diving depth charts a crankbait dives x amount of feet with 60 feet of line out, is that 60 feet from where the line enters the water?

I have pulled cranks in the past, but am interested in pushing them. If I use a 3 oz weight and 4' of line below it to tie onto the crankbait, will that work well? Is pushing more/less effective than pulling? I would think it would be easier to turn around pushing them, plus the rods are all in front of you, easier to watch from my drivers seat.
Here is a pushing chart....3oz weight 3ft above crankbait

Here is a bandit chart. Hopes this helps!
Believe it or not, I still caught some crappie on Ross Barnett in 12-14’ of water in what is considered a spawn/late spawn area pulling Bandit 300s 1.5 mph with waters between 80-90-deg F this past Saturday. They were on the smaller side that I filleted and had Korean BBQ style. [emoji39]
The links to the crankbait depth chart in CreekSlick's and SteveJ's posts are all dead ends. . . can someone please post the Bandit 100-200-300 depth chart? Would really appreciate it!!! I see jholl2277's picture, but am interested in seeing the 20-25' depth line lengths. . . Thanks in advance.
I can't find a chart on the web anywhere. . . Looking to get my Bandit 300's down to 20'. Does the chart in jholl2277's post show anything beyond what is posted? Anyone tried a worm weight ahead of the swivel to get them deeper?
Scott V started a post about using in-line sinkers for pushing cranks. I checked the first 20 pages of this thread and didn't see it. Don't know if his chart is here or another thread.
Keep us posted as you advance in your search.
75 ft will get you to 13.5 deep . I would guess 85-90 I always started 65-75-85 on both sides . Catch 5 at any two poles migrate to split those two . Hardly ever found two peoples poles calibrated the same due to different reels , amount of line on reels , line size ect.
While I have put out as much as 120' of line (according to the line counter reel) to get a Bandit 300 deeper, I'm not fond of going out to 200' of line. You'd have to use weights and then add the distance/depth for both the weights and lure in the combo. I typically use the Precision Sonar app to get this info, and for any combos, I calculate it out using that data and put it into my own personal spreadsheet.
KnightShadow is no longer with us.
I thought after about 115 ft . they started to rise with a bandit 300 .
At our fish n' camps Knightshadow would cook different things in Dutch ovens. His peach cobbler was the best.
I've searched more for ScottV's inline sinker chart. Can't remember if it was on a single thread or one like this. He was using 2 to 6 oz inlines with swivels.
Looked again, can't search past 08/12/2024 for other threads. It would have been posted between 2010 and 2018 I think.
1oz inline trolling weight 3 feet above the crank bait. Will have to look at my personal charts but if memory serves correct about 30' of line will get you 20 foot deep at 1.8 mph. Flat lining is useless after 150 foot of line out, the resistance of the line causes the bait to raise not sink. I can't stand pulling more than 75 feet, so yes trolling weights are the answer!
Thanks so much. Been fishing Enid the last couple of weeks with my brother. Looks like most of the fish are 17'-20', but very scattered. Sonar not showing a lot of bait balls like we're used to seeing this time of the year. Thinking with the water still high, the forage fish may still be back up in the cover of the creeks/headwaters. Action has been VERY slow. Only a couple of keepers for 4 hrs of trolling. Thx for the reply. It's helpful.
Action on big fish at Enid has slowed since the fire at the fire extinguishing Co in Water Valley years ago. Guess all those chemicals were washed into the lake.
Slow on come back since all the big fish are taken.
Page 27 has these tips.
For cranks, 2 oz weight on a 2 to 5 leader,
If you let out 50 ft with a 2 ounce weight, you're gonna be running about 20 to 25 ft deep I'm guessing.
