I was wrong.None was there that I could find. We did throw several jigs/bobby garlands and nothing. I did notice some other boats out in the area though and didn't notice anybody catching anything but bass. We decided to run down river where we settled into a cove and bass fished for a good while.I had two different fish on that I didn't get into the boat. One was a huge crappie early that I seen but my 6 lb line broke as he was close to the boat. He was a huge crappie and I was sick for about 30 minutes. Then later in the day I had something hit my bobby garland ghost and jig and I never seen it but it acted as a very nice bass. It hung me up in a tree top and I lost it.We had a great day relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. I took some screen shots on my depthfinder that showed fish but we was unable to talk them into biting. Tracy fished for some bream off a bream bed and was having some fun and success, when this one nice bream he was bringing to the boat was hammered by this very nice largemouth. We both seen it and that would have made a very interesting story if we could have landed that. He sensed something wasnt right and turned that bream loose.
The reason for the trip was Tracy wanted to get on some shell cracker and I got crappie fever and didnt take time to find any. I'm Sorry ole buddy.
That is no way ot treat a friend! You lure him down there with hopes of some big crackers and you don't even let him go after them. that just ain't right. I may have to go down there one day as I have never fished that lake before in my life. I know there is some great fishing there and could stand a good cracker trip.

I think that this kind of activity is standard for GCF this time of year. We fished a tournament together this month last year and he made me troll a crankbait! I did go along with it but was not very successful.:D I think that it may be the May panic season before the fish get into a regular pattern that he can figure out. GCF usually does not treat his friends this badly in a normal month. It just has to be May.

BOS, I thought I was goofy goin to bed at 12:30 and getting up at 5 but you made me look good. Hope it was a good date. Might try the crackers on woods this weekend. There were beds all over when I found Emma last year at this time. Call me and I might tell you where.
