Some days you just gotta adjust your schedule. I have been waiting for a plumber to do his rough in on a current project, he was finally able to get in and start so rather than tripping over him today I decided to go fishing instead.
My cousin Tim helps me out on my jobsites, so I told him to pack his fishing poles and leave his other stuff home. We headed to a lake "near Ionia" (remember this one guys from John?) I had a danlure swivel jig and a minnow set up and bang, 2 crappies, 2 perch and a couple bass hit it at our first stop.
A couple gills held our interest and they were biting on a simple hook and bobber.
It really didn't heat up fishing wise until around 1:00 and like a switch we were getting gills on nearly every cast using a yellow/white teardrop ( I use these for ice fishing) and tipped with a waxworm. The water temperature was at 60 degrees and we were fishing in about 8 feet of water. I have never expierienced non stop catching the blue gills like we did today.
We threw a lot back and only kept what Tim and his family wanted for a meal. I sent him home with 2 crappie, 2 perch and 26 bluegills.

As a side note, second time out with the Engel live bait cooler......I'm really liking this product, don't forget you can be the winner of one as first prize at this upcoming fish camp tournament!

I wonder if I can blame the next trip fishing on those dang electricians!!!!
