    Default Crappie spawn

Was to cold for the wife to go after walleye on the bay this morning so we switched to crappie
Found some real good ones on a lake north of ionia(I forget the name)😆
Fish were right in the middle of spawning I watched the action first hand
56 degrees water with minnows under a cork
Had several over 13 and a couple right at 14

Not many lakes in that area! BUT, he didn't say how far North! I hope Wanda caught the vast majority while you were relegated to unhooking duties!

Woodard or Long Lake, are the two closest to Ionia if you head North out of town.

Both have Crappie, Woodard is supposed to have Walleye as well, but you can not keep them or some such thing. Have not been to either since a child. Woodard & Long Lake both were great places to learn life in the back of a Chevy. Now its learning life from a Cell phone, Times have changed.......

I remember that lake from a few years back and the spawn was on then as well.
