Can't believe the stupid things that go on in this world anymore. People have no respect for other's, lives have no meaning. No respect for anyone. Is respect even a part of growing up anymore? When we lost discipline in the schools and in our homes and parents can't control their kids, were turning out people that do these violent acts. It's a sad state of affairs that were in. Sorry for those in Vegas.

This one felt good. Leading up to the game Jim Harbagh made is own "little brother" comment, this isn't a rivalry. Well, Jimmy, these "non-rivals" have whipped your butts 8 of 11 times and back to back in your house. Maybe he needs to quit cannon balling off the high board, climbing trees and having sleep overs with recruits and think about his rivals to the north west. Go Green!

Being a Lansing native, Dee is ecstatic...my Cali son in law, is in shock. :cheers2to the winners

Grandson Aiden has a football game today with the weather being about 100% rain for the day......time to put on the fowl weather gear and attend the game. If he's gonna play in it, at least I can show my support by sitting/standing in it.
When I wake up in the morning to the sound of rain, I immediately start to think if I have any projects open to the rain or is everything all watertight, shingles on? windows shut? truck windows shut? .......after running mentally through a checklist and I realize all is ok, then I relax with the morning cup of coffee.
Time to get my waterfowl liscense, I'm sure my sons will be asking me to go with them with season open now. I love their excitement with waterfowl and love spending time in the duck blind/boat/marsh with them......it borders on an obsession for my oldest son......kinda like his dads for fishing, We all have our flamingo I'm told.
My dad was over for supper last night, he's 92 but you'd never guess it by how active he is.....and it was funny to hear him say how fast life goes by, like a roll of toilet paper the closer to the end the faster it goes....I've always had the motto that I'll work hard and play hard. He said as he was about to leave to enjoy all you can before it's too late. I know he wishes he would have taken the time to go fishing and hunting more than he did but he was married to the farm and never took time away from it. Next spring, Lord willing, I'm going to take him fishing......I've only fished with him once in all these years.
I hope you're all out doing what you enjoy!
Go Green!

Steve, enjoy your time with him. My dad would be 86 now, he's been gone 9 years this January. Went in for a "routine" heart procedure and never came home. He made it 6 weeks in the hospital before passing so I got to spend some quality one on one time with him, someone sat with him the entire 6 weeks and I usually would take several overnight shifts a week. For the most part his long term memory remained sharp we spent hours talking about the "old days".
I fished with him once when I was very young, maybe 7, and thought he was the greatest fisherman ever because he caught a "black" bass. I'm sure it was a lake record, state record and world record all wrapped into one but it was probably just average sized. Heck, compared to the 6" bluegills I was catching, it looked HUGE.
I did talk him into going to Lake Missaukee with me one other time in the early 2000's. Even though we were catching fish, we didn't stay long. He said he couldn't stop thinking about all the chores he could be doing. Funny thing is we were camping at Higgins Lake and the only chores would have been puttering around the camp site.

Lucky meal #3, smoked baby backs, baked potatoes and homemade applesauce. The 45 minute weather delay allowed the magic to weaken in the 4th quarter but the Green and White were able to hold on for a 30=27 victory over Minnihaha. Go green.

Yesterday I wanted to run over to Cabelas in Granville to pick up a few "needed" items.....wife didn't want to go and said call up one of your fishing friends and see if they'll go with you......
So a call out to Jerry and we were good to go, called up Kevin to see if he'd like to meet up.....he did.
Although Cabelas did NOT have everything I was looking for, the day was a success we spent about a hour and a half just talking fishing in front of the "Yeti" rack......I did my best as a "Engel" Pro Staff to send lookers to the Engel website
