So yesterday morning, while loading my kayak for another training session in preparation for my 120 mile paddle coming in two weeks, I decided to include take some panfishing gear for when I finished. I haven't fished much this year do to all the training, so we haven't had very many fish dinners, and I have been wanting some fresh fish.
Well the training session, five sprints of one mile each, went great and before I knew it I was sitting on some open water that just happened to loaded with feeding bluegills, crappie, and white bass. In just over an hour I had a good limit on my stringer, plus one white bass to take home and try since we have never eaten them, and at 11 inches, it had a decent size filet on it.
Schools of white bass. crappies, and gills in the 8 - 11 inch range, were surface feeding and were eager to take my bait.
