My experience with LSC is pretty limited. The fishery is great. Tons of bass, perch, and walleye. Not really sure on the crappie population there. As Don mentioned, Anchor bay is a hot spot for a ton of anglers. There is also a Marina called "Gino's" that is pretty popular with fisherman. If you search any reports online, you will probably come across dozens of comments with "Gino's" being somewhere in them. LSC can get pretty rough with the right wind. The Detroit river is to the south and the St. Clair river to the North. Walleye are abundant in both of them and vertical jigging is usually the strategy. This time of year, the fish are in "Deep" runs in the river (over 30 feet). 3/4oz and 1oz jigs are the norm. Usually tipped with a minnow or crawler this time of year. White bass are also pretty thick and it is not uncommon to catch 100 or so in pretty short order.
I know there are a couple of bait shops in the area that will be more than willing to help you out and give you some good insight on where to start.
