Yeah, so I was fooling around on the Newaygo Co. Parks and Rec site trying to see if I could make an online reservation at Sandy Beach. There is a link on the right hand side of the page labeled "Park Reservations" which will take you to another page with the parks listed. I started a reservation and after entering the dates, it told me the park was not open until 5/2/2015. You can also fill out a reservation form and email/mail it to the Park Admin office BEFORE the park season opens. It states that sites are assigned by park officer and are not necessarily guaranteed even though they will make "every attempt" to place you in the site you request.

Here's the link to the reservation policy: http://www.countyofnewaygo.com/Resou...n%20Policy.pdf

Here's the link to the campground site map: http://www.countyofnewaygo.com/Resou...Park%20Map.pdf

So I guess in summary, if you/we want specific sites, then our best bet would be to email before the season or risk fighting the rush on reservations a month before the event. At any rate this is all just for everyone's info.

There are some good pics on the site of Sandy Beach Park BTW and they do have cabins that have two bedrooms/kitchen w/ mini fridge, etc.

    Thanks Don,

Al is going to try and contact them today. The guy listed on their site is the same guy I spoke with last year from Brower park. We are going to see if we can get 10 sites set aside with a group confirmation number.

So we are headed to brower park then ehh? Ok. I think i can swing that. Won't need too much space except for a tent, car and boat on a trailer, but a little electricity nearby and a heated blanket would sure make for a decent night's sleep.

I may well NOT be Brower Park this time. Keep an eye out on this thread to see where our final destination ends up.

I just saw this post, so I assume Bruin Park is out? Hardy will work for us but it don't really matter to me, I have not been to sandy beach but did check out Newaygo Park last summer and was not happy with the launch. Is Sandy Beach the same fee? If it is better for pet owners that will be fine with us. I like Brower Park, no need to pull boats at the end of the day.

One thing to think about at Sandy Beach It looks to be on the BIG part of the lake, we should keep in mind the bigger boats and the wind, I know that part of the lake can get choppy, we can bring the pontoon but should keep this in if any one is using smaller boats, I will offer to let others fish on the toon with us if needed.

Good thought. I do think that if the weather/wind is not favorable those that need to can always trailer around to a diff. ramp if necessary. The winds predominantly being out of the west/northwest, I would think that side of the lake should be good for the most part.

Sorry guys. Been a couple of days. Because of the holidays, most of these places are out and about and not answering the phones.

I will get on this next week (around the 5th or the 6th) and see if I can get something ironed out with Sandy beech.
