Both those routes are good. I drive that route all the time.
As for baits, I really like big bite twister tails ones with an orange tail or chartreuse. I also love their 2 inch shad. For heavy weeds, charlie brewer sliders.

Rick..e-mail from camp ground route as follows..from Chelsea..M-52 to Werkner rd, cross Territorial, becomes Hadley rd, go to Kaiser rd, turn rt to camp..better, worse, same, just different? I can follow US-12 to M-52 south of Chelsea, as well as what I already asked about. thanks
No difference really.
Hey five, I suck right along with you. Just got back from Long & Grand Lakes. Fished 3 days, Sandy & my Son & Daughter-in-law all caught fish, I lost a nice Perch the first day and never caught a fish the whole trip. The rest of them got a total of 18 keeper Perch, 3 short Walleye, and one 17" Walleye. On a worse note, Sandy is really in pain with her back. Going to try and see an Orthopedic Surgeon on Mon. Not sure how it will all shake out. Will post any news.
Hope all will be well with Sandy's back, that is most important. I hear ya' on the catching. thanks again, Rick
Will be praying Sandy's back issue can be remedied quickly. Back pain is no fun.
Just where do you live Five?
Sandy got in to see the Dr. this morning and she sent her to St Jo Hospital in Tawas for x-rays. They took 5. Were waiting for a call from the Dr. now. The only comfort she can get is sitting down, anything standing on her feet or walking, really hurts.
God bless her. We'll pray for pain relief.
